Why Become a Freemason?

Freemasons rely on four fundamental guiding Principles which help them determine their path in life: Integrity of Character, selfless Friendship toward fellow Members, Respect for others, and Benevolence toward those who suffer.

Admission to Freemasonry requires candidates to be Free and of Good Character, with an Education that leads them to desire spiritual improvement and service to their fellow human beings. The goal of Freemasonry is to help its Members strengthen their value framework and knowledge by providing them with the tools, methodology, and, naturally, through their own exclusive Will and Freedom. Freemasonry believes in the Power of the individual; it does not give directives but offers advice regarding the Path of Knowledge, Human Values, and the Truth of life, which each person will attain in their own unique way and through their own Free Thought.

So why become a Freemason?

    To create unselfish, friendly relationships

Freemasonry offers its Members many opportunities to build a large circle of lifelong friends.
Cultivating bonds with people who share similar interests and meeting individuals from diverse social, economic, and educational backgrounds are just some of the ways Freemasonry helps nurture lasting friendships.
Imagine encountering people you would rarely have the chance to meet within your existing social circles, either due to lack of time or differing spheres of activity.

    To evolve yourself spiritually.

Freemasonry aims to cultivate a noble personality and an upright character, a distinct entity for each Member within the Brotherhood. These foundations help members develop themselves, gain Self‑Confidence, Communication Skills, Initiative‑Taking and Decision‑Making Skills, the Ability to Defend an Opinion, and Tolerance for opposing viewpoints. The knowledge you will gain in Masonry will evolve you as an Individual, a member of an interactive society, and as an intellectual personality, because in the Lodges and Study Groups, topics related to fields of knowledge are developed—topics you might not have the opportunity to encounter anywhere else. **What is certain is that you will never stop learning!**

    To contribute positively to society

This contribution consists of participation in social events, blood donations, volunteering, or charitable actions.
Charity is at the heart of Freemasonry.
Our Members have a fundamental DUTY to offer to their fellow human and to fulfill the noble and lofty purpose of the Mason through Beneficence toward mankind.
Freemasonry is recognized as one of the largest charitable organizations in the world.
We have an OBLIGATION toward Humanity, the Planet, and all Living Beings.
These constitute a simple fulfillment of Duty.
I believe that if you are a Person with Empathy, Respect for your Fellow Human, Freedom of Will and Speech, and, of course, Love for all living beings, YOU CAN BECOME A STRONG LINK IN OUR MASONIC CHAIN.
